Always on the lookout for those eateries that lie undiscovered in dingy shopping centers - the ones with the food reasonably priced and cooked to perfection, the ones where the staff and owners treat you like friends and family after just a few visits cause they actually remember you - I decided to check out Snooty Pig Cafe. I was wrong. Snooty Pig was NOT one of those places.
To be fair, the girl who took our order was very pleasant and our food came out very quickly. The one person happy with his meal was my five-year-old son. He ordered the kid's pancakes. (Of course, he did just eat a cookie off the floor yesterday, so I'm not sure if you want to trust his judgement on this one. He thinks all cookies and all pancakes are delicious floor or otherwise.)
I had the Patty Melt which became edible after I took what they called meat out. All eggs were overcooked. The pickles had an off taste about them and the tomatoes smelled and tasted of fish.
If that weren't enough, I had to ask for additional fruit because my fruit had spilled onto the table and floor when the server set my plate down. No one ever bothered to offer me more or clean up the mess they made. And worst of all a hair was discovered in my mother-in-law's food! YUCK! When it was brought to their attention, she was told it was a bristle from a grill scrubber. It sure did not look like a bristle to me. My mother-in-law was offered something else, but she declined. The young girls from Snooty Pig Cafe asked her if she wanted a muffin to-go, but she declined again. I have to agree it is very difficult to eat from someplace once you've discovered something nasty in your food.
I totally understand accidents happen. I've been there. I've even spilled a drink or two on customers back when I was earning extra money as a cocktail waitress a long time ago (who hasn't?), but I made sure messes got cleaned up, drinks got replaced, and a manager stepped in to offer assistance (pay for dry-cleaning, drinks, something to smooth things over). Not much was done here to smooth things over. Perhaps the muffins are amazing and that's why the stores are still open. I don't know and I'm not going to find out cause I'm not ever going back.
