Another restaurant bites the dust big time! At one time, no one could beat Lo Lo's tasty, crispy fried chicken. I don't know what their secret is to seasoning the skin, but I wish I did. But fried chicken alone is not enough to keep me coming back.
We all know their ambiance is not all that, but that's okay every once in a while. With good food and service, things like that can be overlooked. But once service goes, so do I.
We went here for my son's 7th birthday because that's what he requested. Normally we are in and out of Lo Lo's in no time, but on this night, May 5th, it took over 90 minutes. It's not like it was super busy; most people were out celebrating Cinco de Mayo somewhere else. We are not sure what the reason was for the lengthy wait; our server never informed us the reason of the delay nor apologized for it. Other patrons who were seated and ordered after us received their meal and completed it before we got ours. Our server was never around and we were unable to get refills. The food seemed to be about the same quality as it always is, so I don't believe the kitchen was the problem. Although I highly recommend not getting the smothered potatoes. They are not edible. If a manager was present, I did not see who that person was and he certainly wasn't making his way around the tables.
If I could go back in time, I would go anywhere else for my son's birthday. All he wanted was someone to say "Happy Birthday" to him, but the living dead workers at Lo Lo's were incapable of doing so. Are people today no longer able to communicate? Am I expecting too much? Maybe I should start eating at home more often. The food may not be as good, but at least I'll like the company!
