I don't normally accept invitations to review bowling alleys, but I made an exception this time. I was intrigued by their big food and fancy decor. And of course, I knew my kids would appreciate a little fun.
Upon arriving we were not greeted at the door like you would be at a Main Event, but it did look a lot more grown up inside and there were no kids running around screaming. Of course, this was not a birthday party Saturday; it was a Friday night.
A variety of food was spread out on a table. There was a burger larger than my head and a ginormous hotdog. I couldn't believe that they actually tasted good. Usually taste is lost when you go that big, but this burger tasted better than some of the smaller burgers I've reviewed. My favorites were the burger, the hotdog, and the meatballs. I didn't care for the tacos. I had to pry my youngest away from the s'mores. He would have gladly eaten the whole thing.
I was impressed with Bowlero's speciality cocktails. I tried the Forbidden Fruit (Crown Royal Apple Whisky, Bols Orange Liqueur, Cranberry Juice) while my husband tried the Swipe Right Martini (Cîroc Apple Vodka, Citrus Fizz, Sweet Syrup). Both were good, but I would get the Swipe Right Martini if I were to go again.
Overall, a good time was had by all. We even had fun bowling. Kids would have had more fun if there were bumpers. Perhaps there were, but the service was just not there to help us. (One exception - the bartender was great and very personable. Highly recommend just grabbing a drink at the bar.)
